Overview:

A contract with a mercenary unit which has bin operating for some time and the Yard has struck exclusive rights for suppling the mercenaries with rifts and repairs for the next four years. Making our position very secure on solaris7. A number of refits had already bin made for this merc unit and they finally desided to make us their full time provider. Starting with several salviged Marauders.


Capabilities:

Part of a huge reft contract at the mech hanger of solaris7 this version of the Marauder is a bundel of armor, engines, and weapons. The very defintion of the Marauder according to the Hunter design team. Maximum protection is without a dout the number one consern for all combat expectations. This doesn't include the massive 375 XL engine the armor is protecting. Plus the fact the armor is standard makes it apeal to the mercenaries. The massive XL engine is valnerable but capable of moving this engine of war at speeds well over most Marauder variants.
Weapons were chosion after hours of research on Marauders now in production and from the hundrads of variants in existences today. Out of these variants Maruaders carring energy weapons have bin the most secsessful. So the Hunter team chose lasers as primary arment. Three ER Large Lasers in the arms and torso are used at long rang and are reliable weapons in the Innersphere. The lasers are a speacilly well balanced modal with a good damige to heat output. To back up the large lasers are four ER Medium Lasers. The idea of using more medium lasers came from a interisting variant discuvered fighting the arenas on Solaris7.

Deployment:

Four MAD-8T Marauders are still incompleat in the Yards' Solaris7 Hanger. We are optimal about the performance of this vesion and eager to compleat their order to the mercenaries. Once more Marauders are refited this version will only be avalible to mercenary units of good reputation.

The coolest thing about this Marauder refit is that a poilt could fire all its big weapons(ER Large Lasers) and one ER Medium Laser with out over heating. And also that this refit needs no ammo.

Overview:

After the Hunter design team reterned home thay brout back a number of receates form a salvige yard on Solaris7. The Hunter team had aparintly bin quet busy after the restoreation of a Colossus prototype out side Solaris City. The small refit and restoration hanger had aparitly generated good bisness for the Hunter team so thay are eger to retern. As is standard with the bourd we reviow all designs our teams creat. The Yard has little interist in producing thes mechs but we feel we should still pobilish our teams afferts. This is one of several refited mechs put up for reviow.


Capabilities:

A amunest the scrape the Huter team refited a Thunderbolt. Using the new Thunderbolts being produced in the Free Worlds League as inperation thay had no problem performing the conversion. A big improvment was the mechs speed and inclusion of jump jets. The XL engine isn't as reliable as the older engine but it helped to incalperat the jump jets plasma veants more eseily. Replacing the right arm laser with a LB 10-X was the only tricky situation but the restless and quick thinking Hunter Team solved this over night. To replace the LRM the Hunters chose a Streak missile rack. This combination of custer weapons has a shattering affectivness ageanst their unlucky targets. Thay keeped the standard reliable medium lasers but replaced the left arm Machine gun with two Small Pulse Lasers.


Deployment:

Only a cuple of these refits were made. All ended up in a mercenary unit know stationed in the Capellen Confederation. We have no ferther news.

Mech is light I believe, like the idea.

LoS is correct, something was wrong in my HM software, nothing that a reboot didn't resolve and I meant "I like the idea." In other words I like the Mech. Have to be more careful I do.

AeroTech 2 Vessel Technical Readout Overview:  After the Yard tested our ground for Aero Space design we concluded that it was possible to design and build our own fighters using a new add on for the orbital manufacturing center. Blue prints where considered as the teams split up for a competition to design and build the yards first aerospace fighter. The hunter design team based on Solaris7 submitted blue prints on a heavy fighter, while the Dark Knight team, mostly experienced with battlemechs, submitted blueprints on a heavy bomber type fighter. It was the Tiger team that toke the crown from both of them again mostly because they where the smallest design team employing two green aerospace engineers. The two engineers graduated from the outer world’s alliance and loved to take the opportunity to work on aerospace fighters just as a hobby. The planes submitted where wonderful and the yard considered prototyping the fighter for more testing. The light fighter was perfect because it would keep cost down when we started to build the prototypes and allowed us to modify the chassis to keep up with the changing pace of technology.   Capabilities:  The Blackwidow Recon/Interceptor was prototyped in very little time and the design was made as simple as possible to keep a time table for development. The prototype only weighed 30 tons and was much slower then the production model. Taking lessons learned from the Golden Eagle and a no help from our robed friends. We mastered aerospace concepts and applied them to the design and construction of the Blackwidow prototype. We where able to create a very stable weapons platform but five tons was add to production chassis mostly because we installed military grade equipment and the use of a higher military fusion engine.  Built for speed and high speed maneuvers the Blackwidow would be our first production fight from the ground up. The standard 245 rated thrust-vectoring fusion engines are home built and seem to be capable of being used in other fighter designs because it is much more cost effective and compact then an extra light engine. There are eight wing like vectoring thrust jets that have a full range of motion of 30 degrees and add to the visual of a distinct alien look to the Blackwidow. This configuration burns more fuel then normal fighter engines and the Yard has yet to fix this problem but until then a six ton fuel tank is used to compensate. The armor is light which is standard for light fighters with only six tons of armor. The armor is a standard composite which makes the armor easy to repair or upgrade if the customer wishes.  The primary weapon is an extended rang large laser imported from the OWL. Secondary weapons are two ER Medium Lasers also imported from the OWA. The weapon configuration is very light and does not have make room for aft weapons but the fighter has the speed to keep its tail clear.        Battle History:  The first shipment of Blackwidow recon/interceptors helped put a stopper on our pirate problems. The transport we were using was a mercenary Mule cargo drop ship that was a modified to be a carrier of 12 of these fighters. The mercenaries used a Trojan Horse tactic to lore the pirates. The priates fell for it and tried to capture the Mule dropship. The Mule managed to launch 12 Blackwidow fighters and the new fighter was such a surprise to the pirates that they tried retreating. The fighters speed and menuvablity proved so good that they managed to keep on the flank of the pirate. The surprise counter attack destroyed five of the eight pirate fighters and provided good battle footage for selling the Blackwidow to mercenary units.   Notable Vessels & Crews:  Emily El was one of the mercenaries that participated in the trap that was set for the pirates. She was responsible for three out of the five kills and was really impressed with the way the fighter performed in the space battle and has given her new Blackwidow fighter the name Porcupine for the unique vectoring thrust system. She has she recently upgraded her fighter to something none standard and has bin enjoying a glass of good wine with one of the members of the tiger design team trying to fix the problem with the vectoring thrust jets from burning to much fuel.     Variants:  Emily El removed the 245 standard engines of her fighter and replaced it with a more powerful 280 light fusion engine and upgraded her armor to Ferro-Aluminum and managed to fix the fuel burning problem and has installed a five ton fuel tank removed a double heat sink and replaced the ER Large Laser with a standard PPC. The Porcupine has bin given the designation of BLW-2 because of the massive amount of changes to the fighter.  Sense the fighter is very simple in design the chassis is very flexible to upgrades and this has spawned another version called the BLW-1A that removes the ER Large Laser and replaces it with two ER Medium Lasers and a Medium Pulse laser. In 3075 the fighter was upgraded with a 280 rated light fusion engine and replaces the ER Large Laser and a double heat sink with two Light PPCs then the armor is upgrade to Ferro-Aluminum adding more protection to the aft and wings.   Deployment:  The Blackwidow fighter operates in pairs to take down heavier enemies but so fare the Blackwidow has only soled to mercenary units. The Word of Blake had no interests in our development of the fighter and the yard so fare has a contract of three runs of the fighter to mercenaries in there employ. In order to make more money and to expand our production base the yard is offering it to any house or mercenary that has the money but we are finding competition with an older design that has resurfaced call the Sabre.

AeroTech 2 Vessel Technical Readout Overview:  The Aero Space projects of the Yard moved very quickly when the tiger team submitted and prototyped the Blackwidow fighter. In response the Hunter team redesigned their heavy fighter with the time it was taking to create the Blackwidow. They found that if they used a lighter chassis they would reduce costs and time to build the design that they where calling the Shadow fighter. The overall concept was to squeeze 65 tons into a 50 ton aero space fighter. The Hunter team when first starting on aerospace design built their fighter around the weapons and a single engine. With a little advice from the tiger team the hunters had the time to understand what they where doing and redesigned the 65 ton flying box into an outstanding aerospace fighter.    Capabilities:  The first thing that the critics notice about this fighter is the similarity of the Shadow fighter to the Transit fighter. They point out that the fighter is just a knockoff and say that no one should ever try to get their hands on it. Considering the Transit in only constructed in the Capellon Confederation and can not amount to the performance changes that where made to the Shadow fighter. The critics can back off the knockoff of the Transit snipe. The Shadow fighter is built around a 300 rated twin XL fusion engine. Similarities in the control surfaces with the Blackwidow keep the unique ness of the Shadow over the out dated Transit. The weapons are what make this fight so useful with the massive gauss rifle in the nose. The only disadvantage to the weapon is its limited ammo but we see no down fall for this as the fighter burns fuel faster with the unsolved problem with the thrust vectoring jets would force the fighter to retreat when the man weapon runs out. To back up the gauss rifle is a quartet of ER medium lasers. To discourage faster light fighters from getting to close to the fighter two rear mounted ER small lasers combine for some bite. So designers like the tiger team would like to see an ER medium laser there instead of the ER small lasers but are ignored for the time being as the prototype fighter has yet to be finished. Armor is the Yards new ferro-aluminum developed in the orbital facility over Terra Ferma. The armor is weaker then normal medium fighters but the firepower and menuvablity of the Shadow fighter compensates for this weakness. There has not bin any complaints on the armor being inadequate.   Variants:  Future variants may remove the gauss rifle for energy weapons. A top secret Shadow fighter being prototyped by the Yard uses four of the new thunderbolt-5 LRMs and four tons of ammo and the gauss rifle is replaced with a veriable speed large pulse laser. Only two prototypes have bin created with this config and one prototype does not use ferro-aluminum armor but a special armor develiped by the yard. A small cockpit in both fighter saves room for more armor or an ECM suite. The Yard stole the veriable speed pulse lasers from the Word of Blake that did not seem to mind that they are missing.   Deployment:  The three prototype are still in the construction phase and are only fifty percent complete. The fighter is not likely to get any biers anytime soon because of the increased pace of construction of other older more established fighter designs and the fact that the houses have resorted to refitting and upgrading there fighters or producing their own new fighters.

Pretty decent strike fighter, actually. And with it's high speed it could zoom in and out before the other guy had much of a chance to respond.

Bit fragile though, even light fighters can cause you trouble if they get into your side or rear arc's.
