Overview:

With the speed at which the invading Clans drove into the Inner Sphere, the Clans had a large surplus of battlefield salvage. The Clans have designed several IIC variants of common Inner Sphere designs with the Stinger being no exception. However, the Snow Ravens have come to the conclusion that with the Stinger being one of the most common, they could use the commonly available design to test to be an experimental omni utilizing minimal Clan resources.

Capabilities:

The Stinger has been in service almost too long for anyone to count. With the countless variants including this Clan design, it's actually difficult to specify just one role or capability for the design. The Stinger 3C Omni is meant, for the most part, to be a stop gap measure to help ease the logistical problems faced by the Clans. The replacement parts needed for the usual maintenance can easily be found in the Clans seemingly endless salvage piles or even any mercenary's stores or ranks.

Configuration / Variants:

The Prime configuration is mission specific as a Command/Hunter-Killer or Scout Hunter / Sniper. It's Extended Range Large laser and Targeting Computer, enables the mech to stay at long range and potentially drop it's target with one to two well placed shots against lights and most medium mechs. For any mechs that it can't handle, the Stinger's speed and jump capability enable it to run to fight another day or even keep any enemy force in sight for artillery strikes.

Battle History:

The only actual battle that the design has been in was when the Stinger was "acquired" from the Jade Falcon's by the Falcon's Lightning mercenary unit. Chrissara Falcon (Sister to John Falcon of the Falcon's Nest) was able to slip into the Jade Falcon's fire-base. Around 0300 hrs., with the changing of the guards, she made her move. As the Mechwarrior inside was firing up the Mech, he actually forgot to secure his hatch. Chris just couldn't pass up the opportunity. She procured the mech and began walking out of the bay. Before the Jade Falcon's could muster a defense, Chris called in an artillery barrage from her awaiting Fortress Class dropship the "Black Acid". With the ensuing artillery chaos, Chris was able to quickly K.O. the Jade Falcon's two Dashers and ran for the Black Acid.

Deployment:

It's easy to assume that each Clan has a few of the design for testing and evaluation.

A bit too much high tech for a second line 'Mech of 3055.
Apart from that, it is a solid light harasser and headhunter.

I'm still having problems with getting Drawing Board to work right. I've been wanting to redesign it as an Omni.

Overview:

Designed as an Anti-Elemental interceptor, the Phaser is part of a prototype line along with the Buzzsaw.

Capabilities:

With it's 6 ER Medium lasers and Anti-Missile System, the Phaser is able to fulfill it's role of Elemental Killer rather well. However, this design has it's flaws. This Mech cannot fire all its lasers without a heat spike.

Configuration / Variants:

Currently the only variant is known as the Buzzsaw. It's role is as an anti-infantry Mech.

Battle History:

None.

Deployment:

None.

Not enough heat sinks to give its full potential.
Maybe you should drop the AMS for a Light Active Probe and one more Heat Sink.

Thanks IH! I'll try that. I didn't even think of an Active Probe. Don't I feel stupid now. I gotta see if I can fit one on the other variat as well. Thanks again....

Overview:

With the frequency that the Inner Sphere forces fielded conventional infantry forces, the Clans needed a dedicated anti-infantry Mech that could react swiftly and eliminate infantry quickly.

Capabilities:

With it's 10 machine guns, 2 small pulse lasers, and 2 A-pods, the Buzzsaw can fulfill it's anti-infantry role quite wonderfully.

Configuration / Variants:

Currently, there is no variants on the board. However, the designer is always willing to except suggestions. Clan scientists are currently experimenting with an Anti-Elemental design (commonly referred to as the Phaser) but are having difficulty with providing the Buzzsaw with enough firepower to eliminate a point in one volley. The best they've come up with so far is removing all weaponry and standard heat sinks for 6 ER medium lasers, 10 double heat sinks, and an Anti-Missile System with a ton of ammo. However, the scientists are having trouble resolving the issue of heat build up.

Battle History:

None as of yet...

Deployment:

Currently there's only two prototypes. One anti-infantry and one anti-elemental variant. Both are currently being tested on the Snow Ravens proving grounds.

I agree with IH; with having 8 machine guns and twin SPL and AP Pods, the MG's are superflourous; I would get an SRM 2 and some flamers.

6/21/2008  Ice Hellion
An interesting variation of the classical Locust.
However, it might be too specialised and too advanced for a Second Line 'Mech.

I might try to extend its use to vehicle hunter with a few SRM-2.

Going with SRM 2s just turns it into a Locust variant that's already been done. Besides, as the name suggests the MGs give it the "BUZZSAW" sound when it fires
