Taking a page from Prince's book, I decided to make an armory thread to house my designs.  This will be an ongoing work with perma-links to design postings listed in this first post to make finding them easier. 

I'd been playing with introtech designs in an attempt to "game" the BV system.  They aren't by any means good compared to top performing canon designs but are meant to be better than bv "cheap" designs (Jagermech, Centurion, Zeus, etc).  That said, there are a few optimized, dare I say cheezy, designs too.  I've honestly been ignoring advanced tech, just not enough experience with the DA stuff to really get a feel for it.

An ancient design originally produced for House Steiner the Nogard was allowed
to go extinct during the formation of the Star League. While on paper a useful
if mediocre design at the time it was plagued by many quality control issues
and lack of heavy weaponry. Never the less, it served as a garrison and second
line unit the last was vaporised during the first succession war.

The design would have remained dead if not for the recovery of the New Dallas
memory core. The design, flawed as it was, proved be perfect for smaller mech
garages to assemble. The detailed design notes attached to the Nogard from
long dead technicians frustrated with fixing QC issues allowed for even
hobbyist mech mechanics to coble together working frankenmech models of the

Now it can be found all over known space, the bane of technicians and the boon
to cash strapped mercenaries and militas everywhere. Still having targeting
faults, still jambing knee actuators, and still busting pirate claptraps to

Sitting above mechs like the Dragon and Rifleman but even with the Quickdraw
on the BV scale, the Nogard's mobility curve places it amongst slower 60
tonners. Armament wise it is a mix of a QKD and DRG, with an AC/5 and LRM-10
for long ranged fire, while a pair of medium lasers and a SRM-6 gives it close
in firepower. It's weapons are well sinked and can easily be bracket fired but
lack a single heavy “can-opener” type weapon, instead needing to wear down an
opponent. Low ammunition reserves for the LRM dictates when the mech needs to
engage in close ranged battle, though 12 tons of armor and the inclusion of
hand actuator as well as the placement of the long ranged weaponry means that
it is not a slouch when brawling.

As typical with “BV-Weasel” type designs it would make for a great mook mech
but a poor “hero” type unit in a lance.
