Overview:
Prior to the creation of the of the DVS-2 model, there was another upgraded
version of the Devastator battlemech that was developed by the NAIS. Known by
the model# DVS-1LBX, this Devastator variant was created in 3042, and was
designed as a testbed for recently-recovered technologies.
Capabilities:
Like the old-tech DVS-1D, the DVS-LBX retains the Standard Engine, as well as
the Standard Chassis construction. However, the 15 single heat sinks have been
swapped for 14 double heat sinks, significantly improving the cooling capacity.
Also, the armor was replaced with 16 tons of weight-saving Ferro-Fibrous
armour, which provides similar coverage as before, but at the cost of critical
space.
In terms of weaponry, the four Medium Lasers were retained, but the Large
Lasers in the side torsos were replaced with PPCs, while the arm-mounted
Class-10 autocannons were replaced with LB 10-X versions, which are lighter and
capable of switching between two types of ammunition. Although the
autocannons' ammo are placed in the arms, the designers in NAIS also added CASE
per each side torso as a precautionary measure.
Deployment:
Only eight of this Devastator model was produced; half of them are in NAIS,
while the rest are in pro-Davion stables in Solaris VII, with two with the
White Hand Stables, and the Blackstar Stables in possession of the other two.

Hmmm.. A completely sensible mech. What is the back story on why you made it?
I noticed that the 'tech jump from the Devastator's DVS-1D model and the DVS-2 model was fairly significant, and found that there's no official "in-between" version between the two Devastator variants. That's when I was inspired to create the DVS-1LBX; a more advanced and powerful version of the DVS-1D, while not being as fragile as the DVS-2.
