The Gunner was also the company's latest attempt at building heavy-class battlemechs, having produced the likes of the BattleAxe and the Hammerhands for the Federated Suns prior to the formation of the Star League. First produced in 3045, the 65-ton Gunner was built using rediscovered "lostech" technology from the Helm Memory Core. Capabilities: In terms of long-range weaponry, the Gunner has a Federated 10-shot LRM-10 launcher embedded in its right side torso, complemented by a General Motors Nova-5 Ultra AC/5 perched on top of the right side torso, and an Exostar ER Large Laser embedded in the left side torso. Both the missile launcher and the autocannon are each supplied with two tons of CASE-protected ammo, with the autocannon ammo located in the left side torso, while the LRM ammo is in the right side torso. A trio of ChisComp 39 Medium Lasers provide close-range back-up, with one per arm and one in the head, while a Magna 200P Small Pulse Laser in the center torso provides anti-infantry defence. Ten double heat sinks provide respectable waste heat management. The Gunner is powered by a GM 260 standard fusion engine, which provided a respectable max speed of 64.8 km/h, while 11 tons of Starguard CIV Ferro-Firbrous armor would ensure that the Gunner would be one tough nut to crack. Deployment: The Gunner is primarily deployed by AFFC forces.

Decent. I'd prefer an LB-10X over the UAC/5, but I think you could only get one in by dropping all 3 medium lasers and I wouldn't be willing.
I kinda like how well it fits the picture of the Shockwave.
I only have two gripes, and they are both based on my preferences, rather than any concrete criticism.
1. I would prefer to see the build year a bit later. While it is possible all the rediscovered LosTech (rediscovered all over the Inner Sphere) could have made it onto a production Mech in the FedSuns by 3045, I'd be much happier with 3048-3052. But like I said, that's just me and is extremely minor.
2. I would drop either one Medium Laser or the Small Pulse for Artemis IV on the LRM-10. Like I said, personal preference.
Other than that, it's a solid enough design that I could see working quite well alone side JagerMechs and Thunderbolts.
And randomly, No other stock mech has that mix of weapons.
Also I'd be tempted to drop the UAC for another large laser. Damage is about the same, practical ranges are better.
At the risk of making another "Medium laser battery" build... yeah, dropping the UAC/5 for another ER Large, 3 DHS and 3 more medium lasers would be pretty sick.
Here's a variant I made for your perusal. It's interesting... but as I mentioned in the fluff, completely looses the Davion flavor of yours. Also probably a little too refined, hard to get it to truly ride the heat curve.

Overview:
A Variant of the GUN-3D by Snowjeepney on Solaris 7. A little less armor and
dropping the UAC/5 for another ER Large, a much bigger heat sink array and
medium laser spam mans it could deal more damage, but completely looses the
Davion flavor.
