"Olcan" was the Celtic name for "wolf".

Overview:
First produced in early 3062, the Olcan was a 70-ton Omnimech that was intended to be one of Clan Wolf-in-Exile's five flagship designs, resulting from the Clan's rebuilding plan known as "Project Chihuahua", as well as a testament of the Exiled Wolves' steadily improving industrial and military strength. The Olcan is built on a lightweight Endo Steel chassis, and is powered by a 350XL Fusion Engine, giving the 'Mech a top speed of 86.4 km/h, and is protected by eleven tons of Ferro Fibrous Armor. Fourteen double heat sinks are integrated in its base chassis, and 29.5 tons of pod space allows the 'Mech to carry a variety of effective payloads.
The Olcan was based on the tried-and-true Woodsman chassis, though it shares the same reverse-jointed (chicken-walker) legs as the Linebacker and the Timber Wolf.
Capabilities:
In its primary configuration, the Olcan has a pair of ER PPCs for long-ranged combat. However, it is just as formidable in mid-to-closerange, courtesy of three ER Medium Lasers, two Medium Pulse Lasers, and a pair of SRM-6 launchers. Eighteen total double heat sinks help keep the heat load within reasonable levels, while an Anti-Missile System provides additional protection.
Configuration A was based on the old Woodsman Prime, with a pair of ER Large Lasers and a pair of LRM-15 launchers for long-range combat. Four Medium Pulse Lasers are meant for close-combat situations, and a Micro Pulse Laser was included for anti-infantry work.
A dedicated fire-support design, Configuration B was armed with a Gauss Rifle,an ER PPC, and an Artemis-guided LRM-15 launcher. Two ER Medium Lasers rounds out this variant's armament.
Intended for urban/jungle warfare, Configuration C was fitted with five jump jets, allowing it to jump up to one hundred and fifty meters. Mounted weapons consists of a pair of Large Pulse Lasers, backed up by a trio of Medium Pulse Lasers, a Small Pulse Laser, and a pair of SRM-4 launchers. An ECM Suite and a Light Active Probe helps minimize any tactical advantage the enemy may have.
Configuration D is a generalist design, featuring a pair of ER Large Lasers and an LRM-15 for long-range combat. These are backed up by an LB 10-X autocannon, a pair of ER Medium Lasers, and a Medium Pulse Laser for mid-to-close range combat.
Configuration E features the newest in Clan technology, featuring a pair of ATM-6 launchers as its centerpiece weapons, which provides flexible multi-range firepower. These are supported by a pair of ER PPCs for long-range combat, and a pair of Heavy Medium Lasers for close-range combat. To help deal with the heavy heat load, three more double heat sinks were added, for a total of 17.
Battle History:
The Olcan's first notable action was during Operation Audacity, when it was deployed by Clan Wolf-in-Exile's 1st Wolf Legion against the 7th Talon Cluster in Blue Hole. The Olcans would also be present amongst the Wolf-in-Exile forces in Crimond, Dustball, and Melissia.
Deployment:
The deployment of the Olcan is primarily limited within the Clan Wolf-in-Exile.
