A fun little idea I had for a cheap as chips Omnimech. Tell me what you think:

20t - 2t IS 3/5 mp Fusion - 1.5 + 1 t Standard Cockpit - 3t 4t Armor (CT 10/2, ST 8/2, -1 Each Arm, Leg, and Head) 8.5t Pod Space (All weapons torso-mounted when able)

Primary 1 Large, 3 Medium, and 1 Small Lasers

Alt A LAC/5, 1t Ammo, 2 Medium Lasers, CASE

Alt B 2 LPPC, 2 Capacitors, CASE

Alt C Mech Mortar 2 2 Mech Mortar 1, 2t Ammo, 1 2 Medium Laser, CASE

Alt D 2 Heavy Flamers, 2t Ammo, 2 HMG, .5t Ammo, 2 CASE

Alt E 1 SNPPC, +2 Heat Sinks, 1 RL 10

Alt F 1 Large Vibroblade, 3 ER Small Lasers 3 Jump Jets

Nothing too interest.  It seems like the wish version of the Gùn.

Given the E config says heat sinks, and wouldn't need them if it was using Double Heat sinks, The Prime and B configurations are going to have heat issues.  B more so then the Prime.  The anti-infantry config just conjurs mental images of children crying as the already dead bodies of the infantry platoon bounce around as even more bullets slam into them.

I'd split the mech mortar back into 1's.  Can at least drop 2 hexes worth of smoke at once that way

And do you really need ER Small lasers?  Or would Jump jets be more fun...

The D configuration was designed to simply erase infantry from existence by the platoon.

As for the suggestions for the C and F, those sound really good.

I have concerns about lights that don't move at least 6/9. I think even leaning into armor and pod space they'll get eaten by small fast hovers. IMO why the Hornet, Firefly, and Thorn are not great, and the Panther and Valkyrie are meh.

As far as your configurations, I think you're missing an inferno delivery kamikaze config, say 6 SRM2's+2t ammo, 1 SL and an indirect platform, probably an LRM-15+1t ammo, and CASE, or you could blend and go for an MML -9 or something like that.

I like the concept, but again IMO the investment to move up to a 30-40 ton chassis would get you closer to something that you could use more than once
