Wolf redesigns of Solaris 7 dueling 'mechs

With the Wolves now holding onto Solaris 7 in 3145-3150 and using the arena's as proving grounds, I began to wonder what the Wolves would do with the massive (but entirely custom) manufacturing lines Solaris 7 has. So I thought they might try to "prove" designs with clan tech to the Wolves, in order to see what continues to be built to survive into the 32nd century.

First, the Juggernaut I see as being a failure simply because it's design becomes so singular- attempt to get into range despite your speed, and flay your opponents alive. In keeping with the design's original ethos, the IIC drops all pulse lasers for the awesome power of the clan ERPPC, shoves tons of heat sinks to contain them while replacing all the machine guns of AP Gauss rifles. While it looks great on paper, any critical hits to those torsos WILL turn your pilot's brain to mush, and is the reason why I think the Wolves would pass.

The Werewolf IIC is the first 'mech considered a "success", largely becuase it was built beforehand with no ad-hoc components. O'Neil had done deals with the Spira Kahnate in the past, and had completed the new "Werewolf IIC" before the Wolves conquest. Seeing the writing on the wall, O'Neil offered the design for production hoping that retribution from the Foxes' Spira Kahnate would be a long time in coming.

The Werewolf IIC uses the same stealth armor as used on the Wulfen while straight-upgrading all it's weapons to clan spec, and ignoring the Magshots entirely. Fluff-wise, eveything on the battlemech can be easily replaced for inner sphere tech if needed- the iHMLs can be swapped basic mediums, the pulse laser can be exchanged for a snubbie, excetra. The Werewolf IIC would pass, and would become quite the problem for Republic forces.

Next is the Koto IIC. Not to re-hash what little description I've already wrote, but the Koto IIC would be passed over eventually simply because of the disparities of technology- Inner sphere structure and engine, with clan lasers tossed in would make the Koto IIC a nightmare for quartermasters and clan technicians, and thus I saw the Koto IIC as only being used by freebirth garrison clusters. It doesn't help the Koto IIC is butting heads with other interdictor/striker/hunter designs, like the Icestorm 2.
